Purani Basti Heritage Haveli Quarter
One of the original chowkris (wards) laid out when Jaipur was founded in 1727, Purani Basti — literally 'the old settlement' — fills the north-western corner of the walled city. Once the residential quarter of courtiers and nobility, its dense lanes still hold some of Jaipur's oldest havelis and living haveli-temples. It is a residential neighbourhood in central Jaipur, best experienced as a slow walk rather than a ticketed monument.
