A hushed, contemporary counterpoint to Jaipur's forts and palaces — cool white galleries set inside a 300-year-old palace wing, where current art meets royal heritage.
Tucked behind the ochre gateways of the City Palace, the Jaipur Centre for Art — universally shortened to JCA — is the Pink City's first, and so far only, institution given over entirely to contemporary art. It opened in November 2024 inside a roughly 300-year-old wing of the palace complex, and it is deliberately distinct from the historic City Palace museum a few courtyards away: where the museum keeps royal costumes, arms and miniature paintings, JCA is a working exhibition space for living artists. The project was founded by HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur together with curator Noelle Kadar, who trained at the Rhode Island School of Design and previously directed the city's open-air Sculpture Park. Its inaugural show carried the fitting title "A New Way of Seeing."

History
The Jaipur Centre for Art was launched in November 2024 by HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur in collaboration with contemporary-art specialist Noelle Kadar, a Rhode Island School of Design graduate who had earlier directed The Sculpture Park in Jaipur.
