Sector 18 is Noida's original commercial heart and still its liveliest street-level market — the everyday, ground-level counterpoint to the giant air-conditioned malls that now rise beside it.

• Known to locals simply as the Atta Market, it is a dense grid of shops selling everything from clothes and electronics to books and household goods, threaded with the smoke and sizzle of one of the NCR's best-loved vegetarian street-food scenes.
• This is where Noida comes to eat in the evenings.
• The lanes are lined with chaat counters and gol gappa stalls, South Indian dosa and idli houses, kachori-sabzi and chole-bhature spots, juice bars, and sweet shops — a reliably vegetarian, reliably busy spread that runs from quick snacks to a full sit-down meal.
• The market sits right beside the Sector 18 metro station and the DLF Mall of India, so it is easy to combine a wander through the bazaar with the mall's pure-vegetarian food court and shopping.
• There is no entry fee — the market is simply the open street, and it is free to wander.
• It is busiest and most atmospheric in the evenings and on weekends, when the food stalls hit their stride; weekday afternoons are calmer.
• Carry some cash for the street stalls, and come hungry.
