Hindi Sahitya Sammelan

Few addresses carry as much weight in the story of modern Hindi as the Hindi Sahitya Sammelan in Prayagraj. Founded in 1910, the Sammelan was conceived as a rallying point for the promotion, standardisation and dignity of the Hindi language and Devanagari script at a time when Hindi letters were still fighting for institutional footing.
