A few practical notes
this is an informal, unprotected birding location rather than a fenced sanctuary, so the exact scene depends on the tide, the working state of the pans and the season — numbers peak roughly November to February and thin out by the pre-monsoon heat. Come early, tread lightly on the bunds, carry water and binoculars, keep well back so the flocks are not flushed, and treat the salt-workers' access tracks with respect. Pair it with Bet Dwarka, the Okha jetty or Nageshwar for a full day out of Dwarka.
