About Alwar
Set in the Aravalli hills roughly 160 km southwest of Delhi, Alwar rewards travellers who like heritage and wilderness in one trip. The 15th-century Bala Qila (Alwar Fort) crowns the ridge above town, while the elegant City Palace (Vinay Vilas Mahal) and the tiered Moosi Maharani ki Chhatri cenotaph anchor the old quarter.
- Just out of town, Siliserh Lake offers a calm Aravalli view, and the Sariska Tiger Reserve — home to the forest-shrine Pandupol Hanuman temple, busiest on Tuesdays and Saturdays — draws wildlife and pilgrim visitors alike.
