The Aravalli Biodiversity Park is the great green lung of the Millennium City and one of India's most celebrated urban-rewilding stories. Spread across roughly 380 acres of the Aravalli range on the city's western edge, the land was once a quarried, mined-out wasteland; over two decades, ecologists and a determined band of citizen volunteers nursed it back into a self-sustaining native forest of dhau, kair, and other indigenous Aravalli species.
Where to Eat Nearby
- ✦Cyber Hub (a short drive) – Gurugram's densest cluster of pure-vegetarian restaurants and cafés.
- ✦Mall food courts nearby – quick, reliable vegetarian meals after a morning walk.
About
The Aravalli Biodiversity Park is the great green lung of the Millennium City and one of India's most celebrated urban-rewilding stories.
- Today it is a haven for walkers, joggers, and birdwatchers.
- A network of marked trails winds through grassland, scrub, and woodland; dawn brings a chorus of resident and migratory birds, and the park has become a favourite of the NCR's birding community.
- Information boards explain the restoration, and the absence of manicured lawns is the point — this is a working wild ecosystem in the middle of a city of glass towers, not an ornamental garden.
- For the vegetarian traveller it pairs naturally with the city's food scene: the cafés and pure-vegetarian restaurants of the Cyber Hub and the surrounding business districts are a short drive away, making an early-morning walk followed by a long breakfast an easy plan.
- Entry is free; mornings are cool, golden, and busiest with walkers, while the heat of a summer afternoon is best avoided.
- Wear sturdy shoes and carry water — the trails are unpaved and the sun is strong.
